“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.’” John 20:21
You have been sent. These destiny-defining words of Jesus have been at the center of our latest series at Mars Hill Students, “Sent: Found People Find People.” Our goal is to go beyond just providing ministry for students—we want to empower students for ministry. Yes, we want our young people to grow in their faith, and we believe that happens most exponentially when they are equipped to go in faith.
When the younger generation begins to see their schedules and relationships through the lens of God’s mission instead of their comfort . . .
When those who have been found by Jesus go and find others . . .
When we drink in deeply the grace Jesus has poured out onto us . . .
. . . We cannot help but live as a people who are sent to pour out that very grace onto those God has placed around us.
Each week at Mars Hill Students, we are opening the Bible and encouraging students to live boldly and joyfully as missionaries to their schools, communities, friends, and families. God is not waiting for them to “grow up” before he can use them; he desires to work through them right now in the field he has sovereignly placed them in—right now!
And we are in a great season of harvest. Each week, I get to talk to more young men and women who are beginning to live as ambassadors of Christ, on the mission of God, to reach their friends with Jesus’ gospel!
Already, we’ve celebrated with dozens of students who have professed faith in Christ. Pray with us for many more laborers to be sent out to bring in the ever-increasing harvest!
