Recently, we held our big summer kickoff for the Mars Hill Students ministry.
There, we asked a handful of people:
“How have you seen Jesus working through Mars Hill Students?
“There has been a ton of kids getting saved, and kids who are already saved, their lives have been getting changed. And it’s been cool to watch. A lot of kids in Maple Valley are hearing about students from other kids and will call me or other friends and say ‘Hey, can we go to [Mars Hill] Students?’ Watching lives getting changed within students is speaking volumes to the kids who haven’t even been here. And the kids who are here are totally being on mission in their schools and in their relationships with other people.”
–Cameron, 17
“Everyone at Mars Hill . . . really wanted me to open up and share about my life, and they actually cared. I saw something different in the leaders—they just seem to genuinely have a love for Christ, and I really looked up to that. I wanted to learn more about that. And the girls in my small group, they actually teach me things instead of them just sharing their stories. They also put input into my life, which is really cool.”
–Lauren, 16
“I see how God works in not only me but the other kids and how they grow. And by what they do I can kind of apply it to my life and see what I should do. And just by having Christian friends that can help me through the stuff that I am going through is really nice.”
–Jensen, 15
“It has been so incredible to see the Holy Spirit move in the students’ hearts. I have been so blessed and encouraged to see gospel truths take root, to see conviction and repentance, and to see Jesus’ work on the cross free them from slavery to sin and bring them into freedom! It’s amazing to see them speak truth in love to each other and encourage each other with a deep wisdom and maturity only God can give. Students are meeting Jesus and getting saved each week—one student came for the first time and next week brought a friend and she got saved that night! Last week in small group, the ladies shared what God has been teaching them, and every student had something amazing to share. Everything from being redeemed from self-harm and eating disorders, to having deep heart change knowing Jesus is the most satisfying source of joy, to convictions of idols in their hearts and how they’re being compelled by God’s grace to let them go to worship God.”

Junior high students, you’ve got eight days to sign up for camp at Island Lake! High school students, you’ve got a month before the bus takes off for the ranch in Oregon.
Go to the Students page to sign up.
Did you know? Some kids won’t be able to go to camp—and have a week away from everything to have fun, be a kid, and hear the gospel of Jesus—because they don’t have enough money. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen:
