Mars Hill Orange County has a new home! And a new name.

New and exciting changes are coming for Mars Hill Orange County! Starting today, we are changing the name to Mars Hill Huntington Beach and, on January 12, they will be moving into a new building. Praise God this faithful church is no longer homeless!

Mars Hill Orange County has experienced a lot of change since they launched in January of 2012. They’ve met in six different venues in four different cities and changed lead pastors once. Through it all, the people have remained faithful and committed to making disciples and planting churches.

For years we’ve looked for a permanent facility that was big enough to grow in and expand our ministry opportunities. We recently found a great space in a good location that’s already zoned for a church. In all the years of looking for a space, this is far and away the best opportunity we’ve had.

Congratulations Mars Hill Huntington Beach, you have a new home!

We believe this is a great opportunity that God has opened for us. The new building has plenty of space and a great layout. It was the right price to rent for at least 5 years. If you want to check it out on Google Maps, go here.

The leaders of Mars Hill Huntington Beach are looking forward to a large space they can occupy full time that will allow them to have offices and offer classes, training, and midweek programs. That wasn’t possible until now since a school met in their space during the week. All resources can now be stewarded toward the proclamation of Jesus on Sundays and rhythms of community on mission during the week.

Pastor Matt Wallace, the lead pastor of Mars Hill Huntington Beach, says:

“We’re excited because, just like any young family, we’re putting down some roots. It is truly amazing to see what Jesus has done in our short, nomadic existence in Orange County. Now we get to embrace the city of Huntington Beach as our home, while continuing to see new leaders and new groups replicate all over the region.”

We’ve got work to do

The building is a fixer-upper so we have a lot of work to do to get it ready to hold church services in January. If you call Orange County home, we would greatly appreciate your help in the coming months to remodel the space. We also ask that you would be generous with giving above and beyond what you normally give so we can get this place ready.

We praise God for this opportunity but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done for us to move in for the beginning of the James sermon series on January 12.

Pastor Matt Wallace has an awesome vision for Mars Hill Huntington Beach:

“We want to see more people meet Jesus, more people worshiping Jesus, more people following Jesus. The new building gives us new opportunities to serve hundreds, if not thousands, of new people. By God’s grace, we plan to make disciples and plant churches for the next 20 to 30 years or more, leaving a legacy for our kids and their kids.”

January 12, 2014 will be a big day for Mars Hill Church. On that Sunday, Mars Hill Huntington Beach, Olympia, Tacoma, and Everett will move into their new buildings. In addition, we are launching a new church in Phoenix, our 15th church in our 5th state.

It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
