Three years ago I had the privilege of sharing with our Bellevue church that Mars Hill Global was making it possible to move into our new building. I cannot express how grateful our congregation was to hear that people all over the world were praying for us and giving to support our church. In order to move out of the school gymnasium where we were setting up and tearing down every week, our church raised—within our local church family—the majority of the cost to move, but it was support from Mars Hill Global that closed the gap and made it possible for us to move into our current home in downtown Bellevue.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you and share a few highlights of what Jesus has done through your generous support of our church.
- Mars Hill Bellevue moved out of a hard-to-reach gymnasium and directly into the heart of downtown Bellevue to be a visible representation of Christ’s church in this important city.
- With improved accessibility and a location in the center of the city, our Bellevue church has grown by nearly 1,500 people becoming the largest location for Mars Hill Church.
- One of the greatest gifts of our new location was a permanent baptism tank. To date, more than 400 people have celebrated a new life in Christ and been baptized in this church.
- Our new location has made it possible to host conferences and events with easy access to hotels, restaurants, and parking. One of my favorite events was a regional pastor’s lunch where ministry leaders from a variety of different churches came together and prayed for our city and each other.
Every Sunday morning, Pastor Mark Driscoll preaches from our Bellevue location. The sermon is captured then shared online and to our church locations. That sermon podcast and the live service webcast each week is possible because over 250 volunteers from our Bellevue church family serve across five services each weekend. These volunteers count it a joy not only to serve our Bellevue church family, but to know that they are serving Mars Hill Global as well.
You have been generous to us, and it is a joy to serve you as well.
On behalf of all the elders serving at Mars Hill Church Bellevue, thank you!
