After Timothy gave the Apostle Paul a great report regarding the Thessalonians, Paul wrote to them, exclaiming, “May the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you,” (3:12). Let that be our prayer for our church: that Jesus would increase and abound our love for one another—and for all.
Eastern Washington Wildfire Relief Effort
Yesterday, Pastor Sutton sent out a blog post on marshill.com and The City, inviting you to support and aid the victims of the largest wildfire in Washington State’s history. We have created a temporarily restricted fund (Washington State Wildfire Relief Fund) dedicated to the support of victims. Relief efforts include but are not limited to immediate and interim direct relief to victims, their families, and affected churches, as well as long-term rebuilding efforts.
If you feel led to give, please click here and select the fund listed in the dropdown box.
Staff Chapel | Pastor Matthias Haeusel
During the summer, the support staff of Mars Hill has the opportunity to learn from a variety of our pastors. This week, Pastor Matthias Haeusel, lead pastor of Mars Hill Downtown Seattle, taught from the book of Titus on “The Gospel-Saturated Life.”

Back-to-School Drive Starting this Sunday
Paul tells the Colossians to “walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time” (4:5). The current “time” is back-to-school season and we want to use that as an opportunity to love our communities well. So, we’re doing a Back-to-School Drive starting at the end of this month. Please bring school supplies to your church beginning this Sunday, July 27th, to bless a school in your community. You can read more details here.
Sponsor a Student for Camp
Time is running out to sponsor a student to go to summer camp. RED Summer Camp for our junior and senior high school students is quickly approaching. Each year, hundreds of students have the opportunity to hear about Jesus, make new friends, and make some of the best memories of their lives. Some of these students come from families that can’t afford the cost of summer camp, so we invite you to change a student’s life by sponsoring them. Follow this link to find out more and check out this video to get an idea of what our students will experience this summer:

Tacoma: Mars Hill Tacoma had an opportunity to engage with the local community this Sunday when the Tacoma Food Truck Fest was held across the street from the church. Members and attendees were encouraged to head over after service to enage with people. The church is praying and waiting to see what Jesus will do with those interactions.
Sammamish: A gentleman who had been in and out of prison has been coming regularly to the 4 p.m. service. He told Pastor Alex Ghioni that he’s been reading Ephesians over and over again. He said he didn’t understand what he was reading at first, but as he persisted, the Holy Spirit began to help him understand. He said that his life is beginning to change as he finds himself more concerned about others and less about himself.
Shoreline: At the end of last year, Dale, one of Mars Hill Shoreline’s Welcome Team leaders, was diagnosed with cancer. Doctors were unable to do surgery and the treatment options were very limited. Over the last few months, the elders of Shoreline have anointed him with oil and prayed for him, and his Community Group has loved him and prayed for him also. About two months ago, Dale told Pastor Aaron Gray that the cancer gave him a sense of urgency about sharing Jesus with people.
There is one key blood metric that the doctors use to measure the amount of cancer in the blood. For a man Dale’s age, a healthy reading should be 0.5. In December, Dale’s reading was 11—over 20 times the healthy number. However, after months of prayer, Dale got a reading back this week: 0.03! He is not yet declared cancer-free, but all signs point to a full and healthy recovery. Praise God for healing Dale!
