The Apostle Paul tells the Corinthian church, “For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God,” (2 Cor. 4:15).
Thanks to your generosity, the work necessary to put this warehouse into service for wildfire victims was immediately funded by Grace City Church.
Mars Hill started the Washington Wildfire Relief Fund several weeks ago with the sole intention of providing support and aid to the communities in Eastern Washington who have been devastated by the Carlton Complex Fire.
You have responded quickly with generosity, grace, and love and have given $33, 036! In addition to those funds, Mars Hill has added $10k bringing the grand total to $43, 036 that will be given to the victims of the fires!
The grocery store-turned-warehouse is being stocked with items made available for free to the people who need them.
Thank you for giving—as Paul said, “as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.”
I wanted to share one such story of grace, thanksgiving, and God’s glory!
In Pateros, one of the devastated towns, there is a warehouse that used to be a grocery store. After the fire, a generous man bought the warehouse and is making it available rent-free for the relief effort for the next two years. The massive amount of supplies that have been compiling in Pateros High School are now going to be stored in this warehouse, dubbed MARC (Methow Area Recovery Center), which will function as a free store for fire victims.
Supplies for the victims include much-needed clothing.
However, there is about $5000 worth of electrical work that the warehouse needs done in order to be functional. Because of your generosity, you have made it possible for Grace City Church to provide the necessary immediate funds for that work to be done. Because of you, the victims will continue to be blessed by supplies stored and protected in that warehouse.
Supplies are gathered for victims of the wildfires.
Paul continues in 2 Corinthians 4:
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Thank you for your generosity!
Thank you for your gifts! Please continue to pray for these victims to not lose heart.
