In 2012, we moved from an annual budget model to a weekly budget model that is more scalable as we grow.
The new model is based on the number of adults at Mars Hill Church each week. We want to make sure that our weekly spending per adult does not exceed our weekly giving per adult. Income and expenses vary from month to month, along with attendance, but our goal looks like this chart.
Positive margin each week allows us to maintain sufficient cash reserves and be prepared for any unexpected opportunities God may provide.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
