My wife Grace and I made our first trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico, many years ago when we had just one young child. It was during the hot air balloon season; the city was filled with visitors, and the sky was filled with colors. We absolutely loved the city as it had a cool, young, creative, urban vibe. And the high desert climate is my favorite (which makes living in Seattle perennially frustrating).
Grace and I are very excited to be coming to town once again, now with five kids in tow, over Memorial Day Weekend. I will preach live on Friday, May 22, at 7 PM and Sunday, May 24, at 11 AM and 7 PM. On Sunday I will also be giving a free copy of my book Vintage Church
to every family that joins us as a gift from Mars Hill to our new friends in New Mexico. Visit www.cityonahillabq.org for directions.
Our visit is needed because Mars Hill Church is officially launching our first out-of-state campus in Albuquerque under the leadership of Pastor Dave Bruskas. He planted City on a Hill Church, and under his leadership the church has done very well and is one of the great churches in our Acts 29 Church Planting Network.
We are very honored by the church’s humility to become a gospel partner as a Mars Hill campus. And I am personally very excited to help Pastor Bruskas prepare to launch many more Mars Hill campuses and Acts 29 church plants throughout the region and beyond.
