The content of this Sunday’s sermon will be very different than the Real Marriage book chapter by the same name. While the book chapter was written primarily to encourage discussion around particular issues for married couples, this sermon is for a much broader and different audience and so is different.
The sermon will not address any specific issue and is fitting for younger people such as late elementary- and junior high-age kids like my own. The sermon covers mainly issues of discernment and decision making along with overcoming sexual slavery/addiction. As always, it is the parents’ decision whether or not their child is in the service, and we do have children’s ministry up to age 12.
That said, since the first age of Internet porn exposure is 11, and the number one consumer of online porn is 12- to 17-year-old boys. the sermon might be helpful to those parents wanting to inform and follow up with their child(ren) about the dangers of sexual sin.
I hope this helps the parents to make a more informed decision.
