God’s Work, Our Witness is back

At the end of last year, we looked at how God has worked throughout the whole life of our church in the sermon series God’s Work, Our Witnesswhich wove together preaching and stories all around our different churches.

A quick recap

During that series, we were also raising money with some goals and new projects in mind to better serve and love those inside and outside Mars Hill. Because of your great generosity during last year’s series, we were able to:

  • Plant four churches in three different states on one day.
  • Completely rework Mars Hill Kids to serve parents and kids better. Our new curriculum, Lost and Found Kids, published by Resurgence books, offers age-appropriate lessons that are fun and approachable with the aim to equip parents and church leaders at Mars Hill and elsewhere to help teach kids about Jesus.
  • Revamp Mars Hill Music and build out a studio to record the work of our talented musicians and equip Mars Hill and other churches with new songs and redone hymns. EPs by our bands this year topped charts: Citizens hit #3 on iTunes’ Christian & Gospel chart, and The Modern Post took #1 on Bandcamp overall.
  • Relaunch our website to make it easier to navigate, quicker on mobile, and more useful for discipleship. 13.5 million sermons were accessed, and this past year we’ve had the highest web traffic we’ve ever seen.

All of this work was only possible by God’s grace, much in the form of your generosity. To all of you who supported God’s work and his mission here at Mars Hill, thank you. None of this could have happened without your generosity and worship through giving. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. We can’t say it enough.

Looking forward

As 2012 comes to a close, we’re excited to launch back into the God’s Work, Our Witness campaign. Our focus this year is on how our God is a great Dad who has made us family. We’ll be exploring the beginning of Matthew, and you can expect to see more stories of redemption and grace in the lives of God’s people.

We’re excited to launch into this new series with the hope and prayer that more people will meet Jesus and that more brothers and sisters will join God’s family.

As we continue to make disciples and plant churches next year, we’re hoping to continue to serve and love as many people as we can by:

  • Providing Mars Hill Campaigns, which are created to help and serve pastors, churches, and ministries with everything they need to go through one of our sermon series.
  • Releasing several full-length albums through Mars Hill Music.
  • Continuing to support church planters around the world through Mars Hill Global.

Thank you again for all your help and support! Be on the lookout for more upcoming videos and updates about this year’s series.

It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
