Jesus is building and rebuilding his church in this city! This past Sunday we had the great privilege of gathering in the heart of Seattle to witness history in the making as Jesus allowed us to reopen one of the most storied churches in Seattle. Over 1,600 people gathered as we celebrated throughout the day with baptisms, songs, testimonies, food, and Jesus.
We heard a testimony from Amy Johnson who is the great granddaughter of Seattle Founder, David Denny, and there was even an old-timey photo booth with clothes from the 1900s for some fun pictures.
At the opening of each service, we showed the above video that our amazing production volunteers put together. It chronicles and weaves together the story of the church, Seattle, and Mars Hill Downtown Seattle. It was incredibly moving as we all began to realize how gracious our God is in allowing us to be a part of the rich history of Seattle and his work in this city. God began writing this story in 1851, so let’s rejoice together in his great work throughout the history of our city!
