“And they prayed and said, ‘You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen.’” Acts 1:24
“Don’t tell me what to do!”
“You’re not my boss!”
“I know what to do, and I don’t need you to tell me!”
Sound familiar? When we utter these types of phrases, it shows we want to be in charge. Do you ever feel like you want to be the boss? In our passage for today, we see a different example. The disciples had an important decision to make: replacing Judas and choosing a new person, someone who would be a key player in spreading the gospel.
Do you notice what they did before making this huge decision? Verse 24 says they prayed. They weren’t acting bossy, but they knew God was boss, and they wanted to seek his will in this momentous matter.
