The lowdown on Pastor Dustin’s new album

Dustin Kensrue, worship pastor at Mars Hill Bellevue and frontman for Thrice, recently released his new record through Mars Hill Music called The Water & The Blood. The album includes a mix of original songs as well as a new arrangement of a timeless hymn. You can read his thoughts on why he made worship record on Resurgence. Below, we want to provide you with all the details surrounding the album.

Stream the whole album

We love to give away as much free stuff as we can, so you can stream the entire album for free through Mars Hill Music. We also have several ways to buy and download your own copy.

Where to buy

For the next three days, Best Buy is offering The Water & The Blood for $6.99 when you use the attached coupon. We’re hoping to sell the batch at Best Buy first as it helps the album and future ones get into more stores and in front of more non-Christians and unchurched people. So if you can pick it up at Best Buy, please do. It supports the mission.

The album is also available through iTunes or Mars Hill Music, although no coupons are currently available for those channels. For the people who dig high fidelity, a vinyl version can be purchased through Mars Hill Music.

Chord charts and how-to videos

Because this is a worship album, Pastor Dustin wants to equip musicians and leaders on how to play these songs.

First, the chord charts for each songs are available for download here. Second, Mars Hill Music is releasing a number of how-to videos like the one below, where Pastor Dustin teaches the chords for each part of the song. As each video is released, the album / resource page will be updated.

Acoustic sessions

Pastor Dustin and crew have also recorded acoustic versions of the songs for those who want to play a more stripped-down version at your church! Stay tuned to the album page, Twitter, and Facebook as more are released.

We hope you enjoy the album and find these resources helpful!

It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
