Free pre-screening of Son of God!

Jesus returns to the big screen at the end of the month. Who wants free tickets?

The producers who brought the miniseries The Bible to the History Channel last year have produced a new film, Son of God, which premiers in theaters this month. This film zooms in on the life of Christ, from birth to crucifixion to resurrection, sharing the gospel through cinema.

A movie about Christ offers Christians a unique opportunity. Think about the people you know—friends, family, co-workers—who would never set foot in a church. How many of them would be willing to go to a free movie?

With that in mind, Mars Hill Church has bought out several pre-screenings of Son of God for Thursday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m. in areas near our churches. Tickets to these more than 3,500 seats will be available for free at these various theaters starting at 6 p.m. Come early with as many friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, baristas, mailmen, milkmen, chiropractors—you get the idea—as you can wrangle and pick up your tickets! Once the free tickets are gone, you may have the option of buying regular tickets for a showing later the same night. Even though the film doesn’t officially premier until Friday, February 28, some cinemas are offering late showings on Thursday (check with your theater for details).

This isn’t just a pass to a free movie; this is an opportunity to bring a friend—a few friends—who would never otherwise hear the story of Jesus. What we don’t want are theaters packed with people who attend Mars Hill. We want theaters packed full of people from Mars Hill with their un-churched friends.

It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
