The Back-to-School drive has officially launched in all of our churches. With the intent to love the people around us through our actions, each church is teaming up with a local organization or school to provide families with the supplies they will need when classes begin again this fall.
While the majority of our locations will be collecting supplies through August 10, some churches are located in areas with earlier school start dates. Phoenix schools, for example, start as early as this week, so our Arizona church has already buttoned up its school drive. The church collected enough supplies to outfit 60 students with backpacks brimming with supplies. These materials were donated to the Phoenix Rescue Mission for their annual Back-to-School Event. Each year, the mission provides hundreds of families—many of whom rely on the mission for meals—with school supplies for the academic year.
Mars Hill Albuquerque began their drive early as well, but will continue to collect supplies through August 17. We want to have as many supplies as possible collected, organized, and distributed in plenty of time so that students are equipped before school begins.
Most of our churches will continue collecting supplies until August 10. Be sure to check with your local church for exact dates, where to drop off your donations, and to find out which supplies are in highest demand.
