Mars Hill began supporting church planters in Ethiopia in May 2012. We partner with New Covenant Foundation to support 40 Ethiopian pastors who are making disciples and planting churches throughout the country. Please pray for these godly men and their families as they boldly preach the Word of God, and bring the light of the gospel into many dark places within the region.
We have also had the privilege to print and distribute translated Amharic Bibles (Ethiopia’s native language), and fund a pastors conference in 2013, which provided hundreds of Ethiopian pastors with valuable Bible training to help them lead their churches well. We hope to translate several other resources into Amharic for the body of Christ in Ethiopia.
We received recent updates from our church planters reporting that in the first quarter of 2014, over 7,200 people heard the gospel of Jesus, 308 people were saved, and 92 people were baptized! Jesus is doing a huge work there and we are simply privileged to be a part of it.
