This is the final story we will be releasing during He Made Us Family, our 2012 God’s Work, Our Witness series. In case you missed the others, watch the first, second, or third one.
Nikum was rescued from the killing fields of Cambodia as a baby, from a suicide attempt at age 7, and from gang life in the ghetto as a teenager—but the greatest rescue in his life came when a woman sat down at his high school lunch table and told him the gospel of Jesus for the first time.
This clip is a preview of the January 6, 2013 sermon, “Why Life Is Hard for Jesus and His People,” part 4 of He Made Us Family. It is preached by Pastor Mark Driscoll out of Matthew 2:13–23. (Note: Part 5, the Christmas sermon, was released prior to part 4 so that it would coincide with Christmas Day.)
