On Air

New year, new book, new study guide, new sermon series, and new you!

This weekend at Mars Hill Church we're showing a preview of our next sermon series, which starts January 13 (in Bellevue on January 6). Here’s an advance look at the trailer:

“Who do you think you are?”

Tragically, few people (even few Bible-believing, Jesus-loving Christians) rightly answer that question. Young and old, male and female, rich and poor, this world’s fundamental problem is that we don’t understand who we truly are—image-bearers of God—and we define ourselves by any number of things other than Jesus.

This theme of identity and its significance weaves throughout the book of Ephesians and will be the big idea over the course of the series.

We’ve never done anything like this before

Ephesians will be a lot like a regular Mars Hill sermon series, with 16 weeks of preaching through the Bible. But it will be the most complete, robust sermon series we’ve ever done. It’s a full-fledged campaign. The effort includes my new book, a free 280-page research document for pastors, a DVD-based study for small groups, and a book of study guides, which I’m particularly excited about.

The study guide resource includes four sections:

  1. Daily Devotions
  2. Small Group Study
  3. Women’s Ministry Study
  4. Student Ministry Study
All of this material was developed by Mars Hill Church leaders—men and women, young and old, married and single—including many volunteers who simply love the church and wanted to help. We’ve never done anything like this before. It’s a fantastic first effort, and I’m grateful for the work and proud of the team that pulled it off.

All you need to follow along in the Ephesians series is a Bible, but I’d encourage you to pick up a copy of the study guides resource in order to make the most of the next few months (available on Amazon and in the bookstore on Sunday at your local Mars Hill church).

From the church, for the Church

The Ephesians campaign comes from our church, but we hope that it can be a blessing for the whole Church as well. Not only are we encouraging everyone to invite friends and family on Sundays, but we’re also inviting other congregations to benefit from the material.

To learn more, everything you need to know is at marshill.com/ephesians:

  • Find locations to come hear a service
  • Invite friends on social media
  • Order books and other resources
  • Join Mars Hill Campaigns as a church or small group
  • View the sermon schedule for the next 16 weeks

Please pray that God would use all of this in a big way and that our time together in Ephesians will help people find new freedom, new life, and new hope that can only come from an identity rooted in Jesus. It’s our identity that shapes our destiny, which determines our legacy. For our church, our mission, our families, and our future, nothing could be more important.

It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.

Jesus is the most generous person who ever lived. He gave his life so that we might live. As Christians, we give our time, talent, and money joyfully in response to Jesus’ generosity and to help more people meet Jesus.
