Pray for 50,000 people on Easter

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” 1 Peter 2:24–25

Read 1 Peter 2:24–25

Thank you, Lord, that you died and rose again to conquer Satan, sin, and death. By your wounds, Jesus, we have been healed. On Easter, we ask that you would bring 25,000 people to hear your gospel clearly at Mars Hill churches. We also ask that 50,000 people would hear the good news of salvation through the online live broadcast. Holy Spirit, lead 700 people to be baptized that day. Show me who you want me to invite and give me the courage to obey.

Lord, we praise you that it is impossible to ask you to do more than you are capable of doing. Not only does Paul assure us that you can do more than we can ask, but he also makes it clear that you can do abundantly more than we can ever think of.

Lord, there are many hopes and dreams for your work through Mars Hill. Our requests are BIG. But whatever we can think of, you can do more. No situation that we find ourselves in, or need that we might have, is beyond your power. Nothing is beyond you!

We also praise you that your power is at work inside of us through the Holy Spirit. Let us never forget this or take it lightly. Your power to do “more abundantly than all that we ask or think“ is at work inside each of us.

We know that these new buildings, the church plants, the things we have planned for 2014 and beyond are being built by you through us. Remind us to pray big, bold, strong prayers asking you to do way beyond what we’ve been thinking or imagining, all for your glory.

Amen.

We are doing a church-wide, five-day fast that began at sundown on January 5th and will end on January 10th when we gather at our local churches to break our fasts together. For more information about fasting, check out marshill.com/fasting

Thank you for praying and giving to be a part of our year-end campaign to raise $2 million above and beyond our normal giving. It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

The Mars Hill Guide Leadership at Mars Hill

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
