Pray for the gospel to be proclaimed boldly

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’” Romans 1:16–17

Read Romans 1:16–17

Lord, we pray you would give Pastor Mark and all of us at Mars Hill courage to hold fast to the gospel and to proclaim it boldly in the face of the controversy that will arise when your truth confronts the lies and cultural distortions that are the work of the enemy all around us. We ask you to shut down the enemy and his lies, to prepare the hearts of those who do not know you, and to shield all of us from spiritual attacks. Give us wisdom, Lord, and grace to engage with the people around us courageously and kindly.

Jesus, we know that you draw people to yourself and it is your work in them, not our work, that brings people to faith in you. We ask you to work miraculously in people all around us as they hear the truth. There are so many mixed messages in the world, and people can grow confused about whom to listen to and believe. Open their eyes, Lord. Remove their confusion, show them the reality of who you are, and let them surrender their lives to you. Work in them in ways that we cannot, and use us in the process. I pray that your people would be encouraged to share the good news of the gospel, knowing that it is our privilege to be a part of the work you do.

Give me courage to invite my coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family members to hear your Word proclaimed. Let it be a great harvest.

Amen.

It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
