Thank you, Lord, for the generous resources and opportunities you have given Mars Hill to spread the gospel thus far. Increase our resources in order that we may continue reaching more souls. We ask that you would convict our hearts to give cheerfully, regularly, and sacrificially. Change our hearts to be more generous for the mission of the gospel. Show me, Jesus, how you would have me invest more of my time, energy, and resources in 2014.
Lord, help me to grasp your generosity and to trust you in a way that causes me to give freely and wholeheartedly. At the same time, become my heart’s true and only treasure, that I would bask in the glory of who you are and know that you are the God who supplies all my needs. You are not limited, Lord, and you lack for nothing. Help me to trust you and to understand that all I have, whether it comes to me through a job, a random gift, or even the grocery store, comes from you. Thank you for supplying my needs and the needs of your church.
God, inspire your people to give lavishly, and show us a harvest we never could have imagined. Let my heart revel in your kingdom and help me to seek you first in faith, knowing, without doubt, that you not only know my needs, you have already arranged for the provision I need. Help me to trust you during times of waiting, to testify in times of plenty, and to praise at all times. Lord, be with your people this year.
