Pray for the church in Ethiopia

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ . . .” Ephesians 4:11–12

Read Ephesians 4:11–16

Lord, we pray for Pastor Werku Golle in Ethiopia. Thank you for calling him to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Please help him as he leads the Ethiopian church-planting efforts to your glory. As you say in Ephesians 4:11–16, you have called us to do the work of the ministry. Stir my heart to see and understand the role you have called me to play in the work of the ministry at Mars Hill.

Pastor Werku Golle is playing his unique part in the body of Christ by serving the church in Ethiopia. As the head of the Dilla Bible College, he serves pastors and evangelists in Ethiopia. Pray for him as he goes forward doing the work of planting churches. One of the strongest needs is to bring pastors together for teaching and equipping. When Mars Hill Global helped make a pastors’ conference happen, over 400 came from all over the country, many walking for more than a week just to attend. Pray for the church in Ethiopia and the people teaching and equipping God’s people to serve.

Talk to God about your role in the church as a whole and Mars Hill specifically. Pray about the way God has wired you, gifted you, and where he has placed you to serve his church. Wherever you’re at, serve God there.

Thank you for praying and giving to be a part of our year-end campaign to raise $2 million above and beyond our normal giving. It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
