Pray for children

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27

Read James 1:27

Jesus, we know you love children. We ask that you would give us your heart (a godly burden) for children around the world. Stir my heart for children in a way that mirrors yours. Empower me to take action when opportunity arises across the street and across the world so that my works can testify to my faith.

God, we know that you have a father's heart for children, as you told us clearly in James 1:27. In a day where children aren’t always treated as they should be, we devote time to praying for them.

Lord, thank you for the children he has placed in your life. We pray for the children in countries where we support pastors in India and Ethiopia. Father, provide the nourishment and protection they need to grow and be safe. We pray they would hear the gospel from a very young age and follow Jesus for the rest of their lives, and that they would be able to get married one day and leave a godly legacy for multiple generations to come. God, transform the hearts of the people around these children to mirror yours.

As we launch the James series in January, we thank you for the chance to partner with Compassion International to sponsor children overseas in Ethiopia, where we are also supporting 40 church planters. Enable us to financially adopt over 500 children that need you, Jesus.

Amen.

Thank you for praying and giving to be a part of our year-end campaign to raise $2 million above and beyond our normal giving. It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

The Mars Hill Guide Leadership at Mars Hill

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
