Pray for the lead pastor residents

“The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, ‘Follow me.’” John 1:43

Read John 1:43

Lord, please bring forth men who follow you to be trained and equipped as pastors to shepherd your flock. We pray specifically that you would draw men into the Lead Pastor Residency Program that they would be prepared to shepherd your growing flock as new Mars Hill churches are planted. We know that you love the church and use its godly leaders as your primary means of saving people.

Thank you for the strategy of the Lead Pastor Residency program, which aims to ensure that Mars Hill goes beyond a one-generation church. Thank you for these men who have chosen to follow you and lead your people. Be with these men and the pastors of Mars Hill. Guide Pastor Dave Bruskas as he leads the pastor residents. Give him the wisdom to lead well. Bring the men we need to plant churches in the future. Make them the right men, God.

Also, help me to see where you would have me step forward boldly and courageously to help my church, whether that means participating in this program, another program, or serving in a different way. Teach me to pray for my leaders, and thank you, Lord, for calling me to follow you.

Thank you for praying and giving to be a part of our year-end campaign to raise $2 million above and beyond our normal giving. Go here for more information on how Mars Hill is building a legacy to equip the next generation. Visit marshill.com/give to give online and set up a recurring gift for 2014.

It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

The Mars Hill Guide Leadership at Mars Hill

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.

Cheerful givers wanted

Jesus is the most generous person who ever lived. He gave his life so that we might live. As Christians, we give our time, talent, and money joyfully in response to Jesus’ generosity and to help more people meet Jesus.
