Pray for the leaders at Mars Hill Church

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” 1 Timothy 2:1–2

Read 1 Timothy 2:1–2

Lord, you call us to offer prayer and intercession with thanksgiving for all people including those who are in leadership, that we might lead peaceful, quiet, godly lives, dignified in every way. So we come before you to pray for our leaders at Mars Hill. Please strengthen, protect, and guide our local church leaders, our Executive Elders, as well as those who sit on the Board of Advisors and Accountability for Mars Hill. Lord, show me how I can serve your servants.

For the leaders of our church, I ask for wisdom, humility, grace, and protection. May our leaders turn critics into teachers without being discouraged. Let them focus entirely on your opinion and please you with their work, words, and thoughts. Give them strength and endurance, and pour out your Holy Spirit on them for the work. Teach them to operate out of your strength and shun the temptation to work out of their own.

For the leaders of our communities, our cities, our regions, states, countries, and world, I pray for grace and wisdom. Whether our civic leaders are believers or not, teach them to acknowledge their own limitations and learn to rely on your wisdom. Provide counselors who will serve them well and help them to make good decisions for the long-term, protecting all people today and tomorrow.

We know that all men and women in positions of power are under your authority whether they know it or not. Let my attitude be one of trust in your sovereignty and goodness, and make my words helpful, to build up and to serve. Let your church embody the dignity that is befitting the people of God.

Thank you for praying and giving to be a part of our year-end campaign to raise $2 million above and beyond our normal giving. It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

The Mars Hill Guide Leadership at Mars Hill

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.

Cheerful givers wanted

Jesus is the most generous person who ever lived. He gave his life so that we might live. As Christians, we give our time, talent, and money joyfully in response to Jesus’ generosity and to help more people meet Jesus.
