Pray for every Community Group to replicate

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

Read Galatians 6:2

Lord, you call us to bear one another’s burdens. Thank you for Community Groups at Mars Hill, which allow us to do so. We ask boldly that every Community Group will replicate in 2014. Humble me, Lord, so that I can learn from my brothers and sisters in my Community Group. Give me the desire and heart to attend faithfully and invite others.

We believe you will grow your church, Jesus. You promised to build it and that the gates of hell will not prevail against it. We believe preaching the gospel is effective and that the Holy Spirit changes hearts. We know that the Christian life is not an individual one, but one lived with the people of God. Jesus, we know that you build your church, the Holy Spirit changes hearts, and the church lives in community with one another. As Mars Hill faces a year with more opportunities than we have ever experienced, we expect you to continue to change hearts and build your church in number. We pray for our Community Group leaders, that they would lead the way in loving and caring for the people you bring us.

Lord, send us new leaders and give them the wisdom and grace to serve well. Make all of our groups ready to receive and love the new people who come through our doors (Acts 2:41–46). May these groups be places where people get to know you and grow in maturity as they learn more and more about you, Jesus, our great savior.

Amen.

We are doing a church-wide, five-day fast that began at sundown on January 5th and will end on January 10th when we gather at our local churches to break our fasts together. For more information about fasting, check out marshill.com/fasting

Thank you for praying and giving to be a part of our year-end campaign to raise $2 million above and beyond our normal giving. It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

The Mars Hill Guide Leadership at Mars Hill

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.

Cheerful givers wanted

Jesus is the most generous person who ever lived. He gave his life so that we might live. As Christians, we give our time, talent, and money joyfully in response to Jesus’ generosity and to help more people meet Jesus.
