Jesus changes lives. Jesus makes people new. Jesus redeems legacies and steps in to completely and utterly transform people.
Some of these people have been sharing online how Jesus has used Mars Hill to change them, save them, and give them life and hope. Jesus is perfect and does perfect work, even through imperfect people and churches like Mars Hill. Nobody is off limits for Jesus. He already loves you in the most lavish way. He changed the lives here; he can change yours.

“I came to Mars Hill broken, scared, and hurting. I found love, acceptance, and family through this ministry, as well as great biblical teaching filled to the brim with Jesus and his love for this fallen world. One time in particular stands out to me when I met up with Pastor Mark and he quoted 1 John 4:18 to me: “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” His strong words and soft heart for his congregation has always encouraged my walk with God. I’ve grown to know my identity as God’s daughter, my purpose as God’s creation to glorify him, and I’ve learned how to have grace, love, and mercy for others by Mars Hill’s constant example. I stand by not just a man, not just a building, and not by my Christian family. But by God and the work he’s done in and through Mark Driscoll and Mars Hill. I love you all and am not going anywhere without God’s leading.”

“I’ve been a member of Mars Hill for about eight years. In those eight years, the preaching, pastors, and leaders have blessed me immensely. I was baptized when I was 11 [years old], but my personal relationship with Jesus truly started to grow when I started attending Mars Hill. I met my husband six years ago at a Community Group in Ballard and we now attend the Sammamish campus with our 2-year-old daughter. We went through the premarital counseling, which really helped us in the first couple years of our marriage. This last fall, we went through a Redemption Group, which changed my relationship with Jesus yet again. I feel so blessed by Mars Hill. We have made amazing friendships through our community [at] Mars Hill that I am so thankful for. My heart is aching for our church, the pastors, and their families. Praying.”

"I am so thankful that God has given me more of a passion for his kingdom and understanding of his grace and love."
“God has used Pastor Mark Driscoll’s preaching and teaching of God’s word to spur me on to want to know Jesus more. In all of my experiences in attending worship services, going through membership classes, participating on the prayer team, and going to Community Groups and Bible studies at or through Mars Hill Church, Jesus has been magnified and his name lifted high above anyone or anything else. I am so thankful that God has given me more of a passion for his kingdom and understanding of his grace and love and forgiveness over the past four and a half years I have been attending Mars Hill Church. The sermons preached and people I have encountered at Mars Hill have encouraged my heart to follow after Jesus Christ.”

“So many aspects of Mars Hill have totally changed my life, but one of the biggest has been Kids Ministry. I’ve served in Kids Ministry since 2007 (Gideon Driscoll was the first kid I ever watched and it was such a witness to me how excited his mom and siblings were to get him from the nursery!). I used to never want kids (because of bitterness and a rough childhood), but over the years Jesus has changed my heart. I have learned so much observing parents, getting to know the families, and seeing the Mars Hill Kids leaders love the littles and parents and volunteers so well. Each week I teach, Jesus shows me more of his grace, and I love seeing so many seeds planted for the next generation. I could write a book, so I will just say thanks to all the moms and dads who are an example and encouragement to this gal from a broken home who never thought a loving family could ever exist.”

“I started attending Mars Hill two years ago, soon after I was born again after my husband died suddenly. My neighbor who attended Mars Hill reached out and invited me to a Bible study, which was where I met Jesus. I read the Bible, did Bible studies, and listened to Pastor Mark’s sermons practically nonstop to understand who Jesus was, as Mormonism does not teach that Jesus is God and died in our place for our sin. I found out later that many were praying for me at Mars Hill. I only see that Mars Hill is about Jesus. God led me to Mars Hill, which I dearly love and feel privileged to serve.”
