Jesus, we thank you for leaving your home, on a mission, to bring reconciliation to us. We ask that you would soften the hearts of lead pastors from Mars Hill as they prepare to leave their homes for a short-term mission trip to Ethiopia in February 2014. Give them a heart for the Ethiopian people. Please begin stirring the hearts of our families at home so that many would be drawn into the work of missions around the world. Reveal to me how you want me to be involved in future international mission opportunities.
Thank you, God, for the men and women who are going to the nations to serve the people of the world on their own turf. We know that many people still need to be engaged with the gospel. We know the time that Mars Hill Church pastors will spend in Ethiopia in February is relatively short, but the impact of serving you is always everlasting. Lord, pull people into the path of your servants and provide them with ample opportunities for sharing the gospel. Please protect these pastors. Keep them healthy and safe, give them courage and wisdom, and guide them with your Holy Spirit. We pray for those who will hear the Word, that you would prepare their hearts ahead of time and work deeply within their souls so that they might see, desire, and know you personally.
Lord, what do you have for me when it comes to international missions? Stir my heart to do what you want me to and give all of your people the restless desire to go where you will send them.
