Pray for our cities’ leaders

“Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.” 1 Peter 2:17

Read 1 Peter 2:17

Lord, we pray for the leaders you have appointed in our cities. Allow us to honor everyone, love the brotherhood, fear God, and honor our local leaders. Grant us favor in our cities. May that favor pave the way for the Jesus Festival so that there would be no logistical obstacles that might hinder the proclamation of your word. Lord, we ask that you would save our cities’ leaders. Please convict me to pray for them often.

May we be a church so transformed by the love of Jesus that we would be known for our love for others (John 13:34–35). We know that this love is not the current cultural definition of love, or the Disney version, or the picture of love as seen on TV. This is the love that you love us with, Jesus. As we look into the gospels, we see that your love for your disciples is very different than the love we see around us every day. Even two thousand years ago, it was so different that the watching world was shocked by it and drawn to it.

Lord, make Mars Hill a church that loves the physically and spiritually broken among us and around us. Let us continually seek to know your love for us so we can love others with the same love we receive from you.

Amen.

Thank you for praying and giving to be a part of our year-end campaign to raise $2 million above and beyond our normal giving. It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.
