Happy Birthday, Mars Hill Church! You’re 17 years old now! It is immense grace from God that we have made it this far, and by his grace, we will continue to make disciples and plant churches. Share your story and photos today with #HappyBDayMH.
Mars Hill Bellevue and Downtown Seattle celebrated last week with special cupcakes, and the rest of the local churches are celebrating today.
In honor of this anniversary, we want to celebrate some of the big things that have happened at Mars Hill in the last year.
- At Easter this year, over 21,000 people attended and 424 people got baptized on that day alone.
- Mars Hill Downtown Seattle moved into their new building in time for Easter, and the Everett and Federal Way locations have found new buildings that we are renovating now. Pastor Ryan Welsh and his family moved to Phoenix to plant a new location there, and their core group is looking strong.
- We are in the middle of our fifth sermon series since last fall. We’ve covered Esther, Ephesians, Acts, Best Sermon Ever, and are halfway through the Ten Commandments.
- We launched Mars Hill Students with summer camps for junior high and high school students and a back to school bash called All In. Many students gave their lives to Jesus at the summer camps, and 900 students attended All In.
- Mars Hill Music is growing, with new albums out from Citizens, The Dispatch, Ghost Ship, and Dustin Kensrue.
- Through Mars Hill Global, we’ve been assisting church planters and evangelists in Ethiopia through teaching and giving away free Bibles in Amharic.
Thank you to everyone who has given, served, and prayed this year! We are so grateful for your support. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for us as we strive to spread the gospel, make disciples, and plant churches in this next year.
